Please see below for information about the upcoming season for OWHA members.

Dear Membership,
We would like to thank everyone for your patience. The last few months have been very challenging for everyone as you all know, but we hope you and your family are safe and healthy as we finally have the opportunity to start our 2020-2021 hockey season.
Please keep in mind there will be a number of changes for not only the players but also parents/guardians. All protocols have been developed by OWHA and our local municipality, to meet all Provincial orders and local health guidelines. As things change for the better or worse, so may our protocols so we remain compliant. Our main goal is to provide a safe controlled environment while allowing your kids to be physically active and most importantly, have fun.
Here are a few things we ask you to review.
-
Pay Play is now online and we are accepting payments. Information is listed at the bottom of the registration page on the website. Payments are due October 11th. Afterwards players will not be allowed on the ice until payment is received.
-
Players and coaches names have been listed under player roster of the team pages. Please note the first few weeks are practices for development and these are groups, not teams. Once we progress to modified gameplay, teams will be formed at that time.
-
For U11-U22 age groups, South Count and Southpoint are currently in the process of creating productive cohorts where possible. .
-
This weekend starting September 26th, groups U11-U22 will begin. Please visit your team page and view the Team Calendar to see your scheduled ice times.
-
Please review the Return to Hockey Arena Protocol. This can be found by clicking the Return to Play banner at the top of the website home page, and contains important details around arena access, rules & restrictions.
-
Please print off and fill out a COVID screening form for player & parent entering the arena prior to arriving. This form needs to be filled out prior to every ice session. This can be found by clicking the Return to Play banner at the top of the website home page. The check in table will have blank forms available, however, arriving with a pre-filled out form will expedite the facility access process. The association is working to setup this screening form online to alleviate the need for paper, please watch the website for updates.
We anticipate that some of these changes and protocols will be harder for some people to adapt to than others. We ask that everyone work together to help smooth our transition period and have patience for all involved. Board members, coaches, arena staff and screeners will do what they can to help but please keep in mind we must all follow the guidelines that have been laid out. We believe if we all work together we can progress with as few hiccups as possible.
Also, Southpoint Minor Hockey is actively working on a project to install HockeyTV cameras on each of our ice surfaces. We hope to have this service available for subscription viewing at some point during this fall season.
For any immediate questions or concerns, please contact the respective Director for your group.
